Create a Parked Domain in Cpanel

How do I create a parked domain?

  1. A parked domain is a domain that simply redirects users to a different domain. For instance, if you had both the domains lawnmowers.com.au and rideonmowers.com.au and wanted rideonmowers.com.au to point to lawnmowers.com.au, you would park the rideonmowers.com.au domain and have it redirect visitors to lawnmowers.com.au. So typing www.rideonmowers.com.au into your web browser would then load the www.lawnmowers.com.au website.

Parked domains enable you to have multiple domains displaying the same information, but without having to maintain different websites.

    1. Login to your cPanel.
    2. Locate and click on the "Parked Domains" icon in the "Domains" category.
Open the Parked Domains page from within cPanel
    1. Enter the domain name you wish to park.
Enter the name of the domain you wish to park.
  1. Click on the "Add Domain button.

Note: You MUST ensure that the "NameServers" for your parked domain are set to point to the same Server hosting your primary domain. If you registered your domain name through Tecnet Solutions then your domain NameServers will already be set correctly. If you registered your parked domain name through another Domain Name Registrar you can check where the NameServers are pointing by going to this web address and entering your parked domain name:

http://www.whois.com.au/whois/dns.html

Enter your domain name and click the DIG button

If the search results point to ANY other Servers than those in the list below it means your NameServers are NOT pointing to the Tecnet Solutions Server.

ns1.tecnetsolutions.com.au
ns2.tecnetsolutions.com.au
ns1.ascenthosting.com
ns2.ascenthosting.com

In this situation you will need to logon your Domain Name Management console of your Domain Name Registratar and change the NameServers to ns1.tecnetsolutions.com.au and ns2.tecnetsolutions.com.au
